Overview

Dr. Michael A. Morris, MD, MS, DABR, DABNM, DCI, is a physician-scientist known for contributions to nuclear medicine, diagnostic radiology, clinical informatics, molecular imaging, and radiopharmaceutical therapy. As a co-founder of United Theranostics and Medical Director in Glen Burnie, Maryland, he has helped advance patient access to targeted radiopharmaceutical therapies in an outpatient setting.

His work is especially focused on prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, quantitative imaging, dosimetry, and the clinical systems needed to bring advanced theranostic care to more patients.

Dr. Morris earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed a Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology at The Johns Hopkins University.

He is triple board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) holding board certifications in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, in Nuclear Medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine, and in Clinical Informatics Subspecialization by the American Board of Preventative Medicine. He also is Board Certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC).

Clinical Focus

Dr. Morris’ clinical practice focuses on the theranostic approach to radiopharmaceutical therapy, PET/CT imaging, quantitative SPECT/CT imaging, personalized radiopharmaceutical dosimetry, and precision treatment planning for patients with prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, thyroid cancer, and many other cancers for which radiopharmaceutical tracers or therapeutics are available in the clinical and clinical trial settings.

At United Theranostics, his clinical work includes therapies such as Pluvicto for eligible prostate cancer patients and other targeted approaches that rely on advanced imaging to guide care.

Leadership & Appointments

At United Theranostics, Dr. Morris serves as Co-Founder and Medical Director for the Glen Burnie center. He has been treating cancer patients with radiopharmaceutical therapy for nearly a decade and has helped make the Chesapeake center a destination for patients in the Baltimore and Washington regions.

Beyond United Theranostics, he has served in adjunct faculty roles with the University of Miami and the University of Maryland, contributing to education and collaboration across nuclear medicine, radiology, and informatics.

Research & Publications

Dr. Morris has served as Principal Investigator on numerous FDA clinical trials across phases of development, helping advance the field of molecular imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy. His research interests include targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy, dosimetry, PET imaging, quantitative imaging, prostate cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors.

He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications in nuclear medicine, diagnostic radiology, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and clinical informatics.

Professional Affiliations

He is a current member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI),  and  serves on the SNMMI Committee on Chapters, as well as the Theranostics Leadership and Operations Group (TLOG). He is also the current President of the Mid-Eastern Chapter of SNMMI and previously served as the Scientific Director of the Mid-Eastern Chapter of SNMMI.

In addition, he is a member of the Radiological Society of Norther America (RSNA), the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Tissue Effects in the Clinic (RPT-TEC) working group, is affiliated with Mercy Medical Center (Baltimore MD), and is a member of the adjunct faculty of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering), and the University of Miami (Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing and Miller School of Medicine).

Dr. Morris is also a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR), and American College of Nuclear Medicine (ACNM) where is was a past board member at large.
