Mateen C. Moghbel, MD
Dr. Mateen Moghbel, MD, is a dual board-certified diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician specializing in cancer imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy. His research in these areas has been published widely in peer-reviewed medical journals and contributed to advances in clinical applications of PET imaging and the use of artificial intelligence in imaging interpretation.
With medical training at Stanford and Harvard and clinical experience at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Moghbel combines academic and clinical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care. He is committed to collaborating closely with patients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of personalized, evidence-based medicine.
Educational Background and Credentials
Dr. Moghbel earned his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology followed by fellowships in nuclear medicine and musculoskeletal imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Moghbel holds dual board certification from the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
Clinical Experience
As Medical Director of United Theranostics of West Los Angeles, Dr. Moghbel leads a team dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art precision medicine to patients through molecular imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy. He also oversees research initiatives that seek to develop and expand patient access to the latest innovations in cancer diagnosis and management.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Moghbel practiced as a radiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the nation’s leading academic centers for cancer care.
